South Carolina will be one of eight teams in this year's Charleston Classic men's basketball tournament, it was announced Wednesday.
The bracket-style tournament, which will see each team play three games over four days, will be held Nov. 19-22 at the College of Charleston.
The other teams in the field include Penn State, Miami, South Florida, Tulane, La Salle and UNC Wilmington. The eighth team will be announced later.
The move further strengthens USC's nonconference schedule for 2009-10, after a weak schedule this past season contributed to the team missing the NCAA tournament. The Gamecocks are already set to host Baylor and Western Kentucky and visit Clemson and Wofford.
