With all the major college talent on the Byrnes High School roster, QB Chas Dodd (6-0 191) has gone somewhat overlooked by the big boys. But that's starting to change a little bit.
USC recruiters Brad Lawing and Jay Graham were at the school Monday, and Dodd was one of the players they looked up according to Dodd's stepfather and former Byrnes head coach Bobby Bentley. "Coach Lawing called last night," Bentley said. "They want him to come to camp. They want to evaluate him."
Dodd has not been offered. He's getting the strongest interest from Georgia Southern. He's also hearing from Furman, Wake Forest and Auburn.
Last season Dodd passed for nearly 2800 yards and 28 touchdowns.
