LB Ty Linton (6-2 210) of Charlotte, NC has offers from USC and Clemson...in baseball. He is waiting to see if either or both schools will offer him in football. "North Carolina , East Carolina, and Duke are allowing me to play both sports," said Linton. "That's very interesting."
Linton has already visited Carolina Stadium and was impressed. "That's the nicest facility in the country," he said. "It's better than a lot of Triple A stadiums. They've got a great coaching staff. Coach Holbrook is a great coach."
Linton said he has spoken with some of the Clemson football coaches and they are just unsure where he fits in. "They told me they aren't sure whether I am a linebacker or a safety," said Linton. "They're just unsure where I can play. Same with South Carolina."
Linton has offers from UNC, Duke, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Louisville, Vanderbilt, Illinois, and West Virginia among others. He will be busy playing baseball this summer but is planning a few trips including a camp at Illinois. Linton says he wants to commit this summer so it's possible Clemson and USC may be too late with their football offers. He did not name a favorite.
