Byrnes WR Nick Jones (5-10 165) was offered Wednesday by USC. "Coach Graham and coach Lawing offered me today," Jones said. "They told me I was an exciting player and they would love for me to come there. They said they've been evaluating me and watching my film and they want me to be a Gamecock. I feel real good about it. It made me feel like they care about me a lot. It made me feel real good about the South Carolina program. South Carolina is my favorite right now. I'm going to wait (on a commitment) but I'm going to make my decision before our first official game."
Jones also has been offered by Northern Illinois and Georgia Southern. He's also getting interest from Penn State, Florida, Michigan and North Carolina. "Penn State is real high on me," Jones said. "I think they will be the next school to offer."
Jones said he will camp this summer at USC, Penn State and Florida. Jones, who said he's 4.3 in the forty, caught 68 passes for 814 yards and 6 touchdowns last season. He also had 6 rushing touchdowns and he returned 2 punts for scores.
