South Carolina's 2009 home football opener Sept. 19 against Florida Atlantic will kick off at 7 p.m., giving the Gamecocks night games for their first four contests of the season.
Times for USC's remaining eight games have not been set.
The game against Florida Atlantic will be available throughout the state on a pay-per-view basis, the school announced Tuesday. The Gamecocks defeated the Owls in their only previous meeting, a 45-6 win in Columbia in 2006. FAU, coached by Howard Schnellenberger, went 7-6 in 2008, including a 24-21 win over Central Michigan in the Motor City Bowl.
USC opens the season at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, at N.C. State in a game to be televised nationally on ESPN.

The team then plays at Georgia on ESPN2 at 7 p.m. Sept. 12. After the Florida Atlantic game, the Gamecocks host Ole Miss in a Thursday-night contest on Sept. 24 in another ESPN-televised game at 7:30 p.m.
