LB Justin Parker (6-2 225) of Beaufort participated in USC's Showcase Camp Saturday and did nothing to discourage the Gamecocks' pursuit.
"He did very good," said Parker's brother Jeffery who observed the camps. "Some of the coaches said he was the best linebacker they've seen in a while. He went up against Marcus Lattimore a few times and he held his own."
Saturday also included some recruiting time for Parker. "As soon as we got there, coach Beamer got us and we went up and talked with coach Spurrier," Parker said. "Basically, he said they need him at Carolina. He said he wants to be better than seven wins per season and he wants to bring an SEC championship to Columbia. He wants Justin to be a part of it. It was just good talking to the Old Ball Coach."
The Parkers will visit Clemson August 8th. That will be Justin Parker's first ever visit to Clemson.
"We really want to get down there to see it," Jeffrey Parker said. "South Carolina and Clemson are still tied at the top. I think it's going to be South Carolina and Clemson the whole way."
