LEXINGTON, Ky. | Kentucky freshman linebacker Ridge Wilson has been suspended indefinitely by coach Rich Brooks after surrendering to campus police on a charge of fourth-degree assault.
University campus interim police chief Joe Monroe said police received a call about 11 p.m. Monday about an altercation between a male and female outside a university housing complex. The female complainant said Wilson struck her in the face during an argument.
Wilson was taken to the Lexington-Fayette County Jail for processing on Tuesday afternoon.
Wilson was a first-team All-State selection following his senior year at Louisville's Central High school. He assisted on one special teams tackle during Kentucky's 42-0 win over Miami of Ohio in the season-opener on Sept. 5.
