The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued an urban and smallstream flood advisory for Richland County, which includes the cities of Columbia and Forest Acres.
The advisory is in effect until 2:15 p.m.
Today's rain has produced rising water along the Rocky Branch creek indowntown Columbia. Local flooding of low lying areas is possible as therainfall is expected to continue into the early after-noon hours.
Areas near Main and Whaley streets and the Five Points area need to bemonitored for water flowing over the roads, according to the WeatherService.
