South Carolina is taking advantage of a visit from top-ranked Florida and the first sellout of the season to bring in the largest group of recruits for a game this season -- about 100 prospects.
Five have confirmed they will make official visits this weekend: defensive back John Fulton of Manning; defensive back Victor Hampton of Darlington; committed wide receiver Sean Tapley of Jacksonville, Fla.; linebacker Justin Parker of Beaufort' and defensive end Adrian Hubbard of Norcross, Ga.
The Gamecocks will have many more prospects in for unofficial visits, including Byrnes running back Marcus Lattimore. Lattimore has taken several unofficial visits to USC but right now is not planning an official visit.
He has taken official visits to Auburn and Penn State and has scheduled January trips to Oregon, North Carolina and Georgia. A source said Friday that appears USC and Auburn are the front-runners right now, and the fact Lattimore isn't planning an official to USC is no big deal.
Another major uncommitted prospect scheduled for an unofficial visit Saturday is defensive lineman Ego Ferguson Jr. from Hargrave Military Academy. He has taken an official visit to LSU and will take officials to Notre Dame and LSU the last two weekends of this month.
