At this rate, Dodie Anderson is going to have her name on buildings across USC's campus.
Anderson, who donated between $5 million and $6 million for the new academic center that bears her name, has pledged an additional $1 million for new locker rooms at Colonial Life Arena.
USC athletics director Eric Hyman said Anderson, an 82-year-old heiress from Greer, approached him recently about doing something for basketball coaches Darrin Horn and Dawn Staley.
"Dodie Anderson said she really likes Darrin and Dawn. She said, 'I want to help the basketball programs,' " Hyman said Thursday.
Never miss a local story.
Hyman said the coaches gave Anderson a list of five or six items, and she agreed to pay for the locker rooms, which will be relocated and outfitted with new furnishings at the 8-year-old arena.
Officials said work would begin after the 2010-11 season.
