QB Sam Spence (6-3 200) of Charlotte is hearing from most ACC and SEC schools save Georgia Tech and Florida. He likes both USC and Clemson. "I went to a game at Clemson last year and I was surprised," said Spence. "They have a great atmosphere like an SEC school."
He also likes USC. "G.A. Mangus is good friends with my quaterback coach," he said. "And I'm good friends with Dylan Thompson. We met at a Rivals camp and eventually exchanged phone numbers. We've been friends since."
Spence plans to go to Virginia for their junior day on March 6. He is also looking to go to USC and Clemson for their junior days as well as North Carolina. Spence has taken unofficials to North Carolina, NC State, Duke, and Virginia.
As a junior, he combined for 24 touchdowns, 16 through the air. He also had 2300 total yards throwing for 1600. This past January, Spence was in San Antonio, TX for the Army All-American combine and hopes to be invited to next year's game. He does not have any favorites.
