South Carolina senior Devan Downey is one of 16 finalists for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, given annually to the nation's top men's college basketball player.
The finalists were announced Tuesday by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, which will presented on the Friday before the Final Four, on April 2.
Downey made the cut along with Kentucky freshmen DeMarcus Cousins and John Wall. The trio are the only players from the SEC on the list.
Other finalists include Ohio State's Evan Turner, Villanova's Scottie Reynolds and Kansas teammates Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins.
South Florida's Dominique Jones, whose team the Gamecocks faced in November, also made the cut.
