Former South Carolina running back Cory Boyd will continue his professional football career in Canada.
The Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League announced Friday that Boyd signed with the team through 2011.
Boyd was a seventh-round NFL draft pick by Tampa Bay in 2008 who also spent time with the Denver Broncos.
At USC (2003-04, 06-07) he rushed for 2,267 yards, caught passes for 1,283 yards and scored 28 touchdowns.
"Cory Boyd is a back with size which is important in our game," Argonauts General Manager/Vice President of Football Operations Adam Rita told the Argonauts Web site. "His great receiving skills coupled with his speed to go the distance make him an intriguing prospect we look forward to seeing on the field.”
