USC is the lone major offer for Darlington RB Dominique Cooper (6-1 200) at this point, but more big-time offers should be coming this spring and summer according to Falcons coach Justin Danner. "A lot of people haven't seen him," Danner said. "Word is getting out now and interest is picking up."
Cooper rushed for 1200 yards and 10 touchdowns last season. He averaged nine yards per carry. He also can play linebacker or free safety. Cooper attended USC's junior day and recruiter Ellis Johnson got a close up look. "They feel he can play anywhere for them," Danner said. "Coach Johnson likes him as an athlete. He plays outside linebacker and plays defense well. I think they like his range and the way he runs to the football. But, he wants to play tailback somewhere."
Cooper has not taken any other visits and has not scheduled any. And he apparently is not in a hurry to make a decision. "He wants to play this thing out," Danner said.
