Aramis Hillary is back practicing with USC, even as his legal status remains in limbo.
The Gamecocks' backup quarterback was reinstated to the team and participated in Tuesday night's practice. Hillary is facing charges of underage drinking and drunkenness after being arrested last week in West Columbia.
"He got cleared through the athletic director. He's eligible to practice," coach Steve Spurrier said.
Hillary and his brother CoCo Hillary, an Appalachian State receiver, were arrested after police stopped them for speeding last Thursday morning. CoCo, 22, was charged with DUI and violation of the ABC Act. Both brothers have requested jury trials.

T.C. Campbell had high hopes for the 2009 season when he started the first two games at left guard, but he later suffered a shoulder stinger that eventually sidelined him for the season.
"It was real rough. It was very hard," Campbell said. "I was used to going with the team, to traveling with the team, to not traveling with the team, staying back and stuff like that."
Campbell is back now, working with the first- and second-team at both guard spots. The fifth-year senior has started 11 games in his career.
"I'm appreciative of the chance to show I'm still healthy and can play," he said.
The Gamecocks got a pre-practice speech from former NFL coach Tony Dungy that had some familiar themes. But coming from a Super Bowl-winning coach and potential Hall of Famer, the talk appeared to carry some weight.
"Tony emphasized hard work and teamwork," Spurrier said. "Our guys seemed to do that better tonight."
Starting quarterback Stephen Garcia echoed that.
"I think that's what coach Spurrier is going to emphasize more this year than anything else is teamwork, because that's what coach Dungy was saying," Garcia said. "He said when they won their Super Bowl in 2006, it wasn't the most talented team he's ever seen. But they worked together and the hardest."
Receiver Alshon Jeffery returned to practice after being suspended the first practice for missed classes. ... The team has added a Thursday practice to the schedule, adjusting for good weather.
