The NCAA last week announced a new recruiting rule in which no more than two coaches from any one school can visit a recruit on the same day during an evaluation period. Fortunately for Georgia, the Bulldogs got in to check on Goose Creek OL Brandon Shell (6-8 295) before that rule was created.
According to Goose Creek coach Chuck Reedy, four Georgia assistants recently came by on the same day. Individual coaches from USC, LSU, North Carolina and Notre Dame also have been in. And Clemson is expected to visit next week.
Reedy said at this point, USC and Georgia are "looking pretty good with him. I don't think he'll go very far away. I would be surprised if he takes five visits. I'm encouraging him this summer to visit a few places. The only places he's been are Clemson and USC. He's just not in to it (recruiting)."
Shell went to a game at Clemson last season, and he made an unofficial visit there last summer. He made an unofficial visit to USC the day before the spring game.
He has not yet narrowed his list from his more than 30 offers, but USC, Clemson and Georgia will be on the list.
