Clemson defensive coordinator Kevin Steele spent Tuesday afternoon at Lamar High School scouting LB BJ Goodson (6-1 215). Goodson has offers from Clemson and Coastal Carolina and is close to one from East Carolina according to his coach JR Boyd.
Recruiters from USC, Auburn, Arkansas, Wake Forest, Appalachian State, The Citadel and Illinois also have been in to check on Goodson. He’s been favoring Clemson but is not ready to make a commitment.
“I think he wants to go to camps at USC and Clemson to get a little bit more of an idea,” Boyd said. "He wants to make the camps and see what happens there. Coach Steele was at practice Tuesday and they want him. I feel sure he's going to stay in state. USC wants to see him in camp. (Ellis) Johnson wants to see him up front and personal."
Goodson has been to Clemson and USC for junior days.
