TE Drew Owens (6-5 230) of Charlotte recently opened his recruiting back up after initially favoring USC and North Carolina. He says he is waiting to see if certain schools will offer.
"I want to see if Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Florida are going to offer," said Owens. "I will visit any of those schools that offer."
He also plans to visit both Clemson and USC this summer. "I'm definitely going to visit both of the schools in South Carolina," he said. "I'll visit UNC and (NC) State this summer too."
Owens has visited both USC and Clemson several times and says they are two schools with which he is very comfortable. His offers include USC, Clemson, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Maryland, East Carolina, Vanderbilt, Duke, Virginia, Louisville, Michigan, South Florida, and Illinois.
He says Notre Dame told him they would offer if he agreed to play defensive end but he declined. "I want to play tight end," said Owens.
He plans to narrow his list to five by early summer and says he has a lot of interest in both Clemson and USC. He does not have any favorites. "If I were to list my top five right now, I wouldn't even know where to begin," he said.
