State Budget and Control Board meetings will have a new, larger home beginning next week.
The five-member Board, which approves bond and land transactions as well as providing budget oversight, will move into a House committee room.
Treasurer Curtis Loftis requested the venue change to better accommodate the dozens of agency staff, lobbyists, media and others who had to crowd into the previous location in the governor's conference room.
The old room, Loftis said, often left no room for the public to attend.
Never miss a local story.
Access has long been a problem, and S.C. ETV began broadcasting the meeting on televisions in the Wade Hampton Building lobby a few years ago.
