Matt Moore, a former aide to two Republican governors, has been named the new executive director of the S.C. Republican Party.
"Job number one for our South Carolina Republican Party is to build on our historic victories while upholding our conservative principles," said new state GOP chairman Chad Connelly in a press release. "Matt has an outstanding record of doing just that."
Moore, 29, is a former deputy political director at the national Republican Governors Association, former deputy director at the Georgia Republican Party and former director of the S.C. Club for Growth. He succeeds Joel Sawyer who left the post to become state director for the likely presidential campaign of Republican Jon Huntsman, a former Utah governor and former U.S. ambassador to China.
