S.C. Republican chairman Chad Connelly sent a letter to Democrats on Wednesday accusing them of “not lift(ing) a finger to help recruit jobs or grow existing businesses in our state.”
The letter came a day after Democrats held a news conference to criticize GOP officeholders for giving high-paying state jobs to their former campaign staffers.
Connelly’s letter focused on the National Labor Relations Board’s challenge to Boeing’s decision to open a 787 assembly plant in North Charleston.
“I call on each of you to immediately travel to Washington, D.C., (or Martha’s Vineyard) and meet with President Obama,” Connelly wrote. “Tell him to call off the NLRB and stop his efforts to kill the thousands of good-paying jobs that Boeing has brought to the Lowcountry.”
