Columbia Police are trying to track down two cars seen shooting at each other near Midlands Technical College Tuesday afternoon.
Drivers and passengers in a black Dodge Charger and a yellow car exchanged gunfire at Blossom Street and Beltline Boulevard about 4 p.m., Columbia Police spokeswoman Jennifer Timmons said. There were at least two possible injuries in the incident, she said.
Timmons said shortly after the shootout, two people drove themselves to Palmetto Health Richland for treatment of gunshot wounds. One of the people had a bullet wound in the shoulder, and another was shot in the head, she said. But, she said, it is unclear if or how they were involved in the incident.
A Jimmy John’s delivery driver was also grazed by a bullet in the incident, Timmons said. The bullet left a mark on his leg, but otherwise he was uninjured.
Richland County deputies have found a black Dodge Charger believed to be involved in the incident at a Bluff Road apartment complex, Timmons said. There were bullet holes in the side of the vehicle she said.
Columbia Police are still looking for the people involved in the incident, and are trying to find the yellow car seen in the shooting.
Details will be posted as they become available.
