Gov. Nikki Haley will speak at 10 p.m. on the first night of the Republican National Convention in Tampa, her office said Monday.
The Lexington Republican will lead prime time coverage of the event on Aug. 27.
Her speech will focus on her battles with the federal government and her relationship with presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, according to the Charleston Post and Courier.
Haley endorsed Romney leading up to South Carolina’s January GOP primary. Ultimately, Newt Gingrich won the Palmetto State.
Convention officials had confirmed earlier this month that Haley would have a speaking role but had not announced the time or date.
