Carolina held on in the last minute to defeat Arkansas 62-60 on the road at Bud Walton Arena. South Carolina built a 13-point second-half lead, but saw the Razorbacks erase the deficit and tie the game at 60 with 1:30 left to play.
However, USC had one last charge, as guard Jamel Bradley scored the game’s final points on a driving layup with 1:09 left to play. The USC defense held tough as they foiled three attempts by the Hogs to tie the game at the end.
Dave Odom’s first team went on to make a nice post-season run in the NIT, making it all the way to the championship game before losing to Memphis at Madison Square Garden.
