Carolina took out some frustrations of a tough season against the Tennessee Vols with a surprisingly easy 81-64 SEC victory.
Carolina picked up its third win in twelve tries vs. SEC opponents. Tre Kelley was fantastic for Carolina, scoring 25 points and leaving to a standing ovation late in the second half. He outdueled the SEC’s leading scorer Chris Lofton, who was held in check, scoring only 13 points.
The Gamecocks as a team were red-hot from behind the arc, hitting 13-of-28 threes. This was the first game all season that Carolina led an opponent by more than 20 points, as they built a 25-point second half cushion. Frustrations boiled over for Tennessee in the game as well, as they were whistled for three technical fouls in the contest.
