USC’s Trinity Johnson fires a one-hitter vs. Coastal Carolina in women’s softball, leading Carolina to 10-0 victory. Trinity also struck out ten Coastal batters in the process.
Undoubtedly, Johnson is one of the greatest players ever at USC. She was a three-time NFCA All-American, and was named the Softball National Player of the Year in 1997. She was awarded the 1996-97 Honda Award for softball, and was a finalist for the Honda-Broderick Award given to the most outstanding collegiate female athlete.
On September 24, 2004, Trinity was honored with induction into the University of South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame.
