The Gamecocks brought home the inaugural SEC Softball Tournament championship trophy, defeating Florida in the final game by a score of 6-0.
The South Carolina ladies were dominant, outscoring their opponents 21-1 in the three games. The #2 ranked Gamecocks improved their record to an incredible 60-3 on the season.
USC pitcher Trinity Johnson was brilliant as usual for Carolina, earning the tournament’s MVP trophy. She started all three games, and went the distance in the championship finale for her second victory in three days vs. the Gators. Johnson allowed only two hits and struck out eight in the shutout victory. She improved her season record to an astounding 32-2.
