Fall practice began in preparation for the 1980 season, with RB George Rogers carrying an ongoing streak of ten consecutive 100-yard rushing games.
In 1979, Rogers started the season with games of 98 and 92 yards respectively. He then reeled off ten straight games of 100+ yards, including the Hall of Fame Bowl vs. Missouri.
The streak would continue throughout the 1980 season as well. As we all know, Rogers had a “pretty good” year, bringing back the Heisman Trophy to Columbia.
