Prince fans were in the Colonial Life Arena parking lot at 4 a.m. Tuesday, four hours before the arena opened its doors.
Tickets didn’t go on sale until 10 a.m.
The fans who showed up at the arena were given numbered wristbands for the ticket lottery. The line of hundreds wrapped around the atrium.
While first-day ticket sales were not released for the concert that was announced less than a week ago, an arena representative said sales were going well.
Never miss a local story.
The concert, at 7:30 p.m. Monday, is the first of a 10-day, six-show run in the Carolinas for Prince. Tickets cost $49 to $199.
