Owners of the Blue Cactus Cafe in Five Points have closed the restaurant temporarily as they mourn the loss of a family member.
John Michael Culclasure, 57, the son-in-law of owner Lloyd Reese, died Friday.
The restaurant on Greene Street, a popular Korean-Cuban restaurant popular with meat lovers and vegetarians alike, will be closed until Tuesday, April 9.
Friends of the restaurant have set up a fund-raising page at https://rally.org/helpjulie to raise money for Mike's wife, Julie Culclasure, and her family. A Facebook page, www.facebook.com/helpjulie, also has been created to keep friends informed.
Update: Jake's of Columbia is the host for an April 11 fund-raiser to help the family. Click here to find more information and updates.
