A shop specializing in custom-made ice cream sandwiches is coming to Columbia
The Baked Bear, a San Diego based shop specializing in custom ice cream sandwiches, will soon find a home in Columbia’s Five Points.
The company, started by Rob Robbins and Shane Stanger, serves up “monstrous ice cream sandwiches” made with original-recipe ice creams and fresh-baked cookies, brownies and donuts. You can have the cookie and/or ice cream separately or create a custom sandwich. Additional toppings — such as sprinkles, almonds, whipped cream, Fruity Pebbles and Heath Bar bits — can be added to your order.
Other menu items include hot fudge sundaes, root beer floats and assorted cookies and brownies.
The confectionery opening in late April at 631 Harden St., near Yesterday’s, will be the company’s first in South Carolina.
