A Bluffton firefighter rescued a family of ducklings trapped in a storm drain earlier this month, according to a news release.

The Bluffton Township Fire District dispatched engine 323 to the parking lot on Malphrus road where the ducklings were reported trapped and a firefighter lowered himself into the storm drain, delivering the ducklings to the surface.

Once rescued the ducklings quickly joined a group of older ducks and swam away, the release said.
