Columbia mosque opens its door for ‘Share Islam Day’

A Columbia mosque is openings its doors Saturday to non-Muslims who want to learn more about the religions and its prophet Mohammad.

The Islamic Center of Columbia, also known as Masjid al-Muslimiin, 1929 Gervais Street, will provide dinner and socializing with its members, 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Share Islam Day, an event that has drawn those interested in the area’s diverse spirituality.

In addition to sharing Middle Eastern foods and drinks, the center is also offering exhibits on Islam and a recitation from the Koran.
