The Rev. C.L. Hardy, founder and pastor of New Covenant Assembly Christian Ministry in Columbia, has been named bishop of the Northern Philippines District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. The Indiana-based denomination conferred the honor during an ordination service Aug. 4 in Orlando, during the Assemblies’ 96th annual convention. In his new role, Hardy will travel to the Philippines up to four times a year to work with congregations and provide leadership. Hardy, a Spartanburg native and USC graduate, has been a pastor for 27 years and is a recipient of a number of state and church honors.
