Lauren Ashley Burgess and Grayson Willard Hutson, both of Chapin, were united in marriage June 10 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in Columbia. The Rev. Frank W. Anderson officiated the 5:30 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. James Michael Burgess and Mrs. Joyce Shealy Burgess of Columbia. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Bruce Shealy of Columbia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Vearl Burgess of Orangeburg. She earned a master’s degree in accountancy and business administration from the University of South Carolina.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Willard Wilson Hutson Jr. of Columbia. He is the grandson of Mr. Willard Wilson Hutson Sr. and the late Mrs. Edith Valerie Hutson of Charleston and the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Osmond Boulware of Boiling Springs. He earned a bachelor’s degree from USC.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Organist Martha Hill and violinists Frank and Laura Thomas provided music.

Matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Amanda Burgess Chapman of Columbia. Bridesmaids were the groom’s sisters Heather Hutson Rogers of Chapin and Lauren Hutson Hinrichs of Lexington; the bride’s sister-in-law, Jennifer Hinds Burgess of Chapin; Whitney Meek Buechel and Hannah Leigh Cameron, both of Charleston; Stefanie Rickman Collins and Ellison Coles Owings, both of Greenville; Brittany Cannon Greene of Myrtle Beach; Elisabeth Mikolchak of Belmont, California; Colleen Schwartz O’Sullivan of Aldie, Virginia; and Whitney Jones Thigpen of Lexington. The groom’s nieces, Amelia Lauren Rogers of Chapin and Caroline Elizabeth Hinrichs of Lexington, and the bride’s nieces, Lily Jane Chapman and Lena Avery Chapman of Irmo and Mia Kaye Burgess of Chapin, were flower girls.
Best men were the groom’s father and brother-in-law, Jeffrey Bryant Rogers of Chapin. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother, Derek Michael Burgess of Chapin; the groom’s brother-in-law Christopher Scott Hinrichs of Lexington; the bride’s brother-in-law Shannon Anthony Chapman of Irmo; Jeremy Wade Berger of Indian Trail, North Carolina; Tanner William Douglas and Neal Palmer Strange, both of Chapin; Jason Michael Middlebrooks of Columbia; and David Robert Steadman of West Ashley. The groom’s nephews, Hutson Scott Hinrichs of Lexington and godson Bryant Alexander Rogers of Chapin, and the bride’s nephew, Landon Michael Burgess, were ring bearers.
The groom’s nieces Sara Kathryn Rogers and Meredith Laine Rogers of Chapin were greeters and program attendants. The bride’s aunt Pamela Davis Amick of Columbia was a reader.
The groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner June 9 at the USC Alumni Center. A reception followed the wedding ceremony at 1208 Washington Place.
After their honeymoon in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, the couple will reside in Chapin.
