Christian Marie Bear and Tillman Eddie Johnson, both of Weehawken, New Jersey, were united in marriage April 29 at Legare Waring House at Charles Towne Landing in Charleston. The Rev. Greg Mason of Charleston officiated the 6 o’clock ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Harris Bear of San Diego. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Frangoulis of St. Louis and Mrs. Robert Bear and the late Mr. Robert Bear of Auburn, Alabama. A graduate of the University of Georgia, the bride is employed with CNN as a senior editorial producer.
The groom is the son of Mr. Jerry Travis Smith of Aiken and Mrs. Diane Sullivan Jacobs of Columbia. He is the grandson of Mrs. Alberta Galloway Sullivan of Greenwood and the late Mr. Carl Mason Sullivan of Seneca and the late Mr. and Mrs. Travis Grant Smith of Edgefield. The groom owns a consulting company in the New York area, providing information technology consulting and management services for the health care industry.
The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents.
Maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Britney Bear of Washington. Bridesmaids were Kaitlin Adams of New York; Morgan Anna, Kym Crosby, Laura Davis, Kerry James, Lindsay Miller and Shannon Price, all of Atlanta; and the groom’s daughter, Elizabeth Johnson of South Bound Brook, New Jersey.
Best man was the groom’s father. Groomsmen were the groom’s uncle Rick Sullivan of Irmo; the groom’s cousin Mason Sullivan and Garrett Viohl, both of Mount Pleasant; and the groom’s cousin Vance Sullivan, John Estill and John Whitaker, all of Columbia.
Reader was the bride’s uncle Paul Frangoulis of Snellville, Georgia.
A reception followed at Legare Waring House.
The couple honeymooned in Rome, Tuscany and Venice, Italy. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson will reside in Weehawken, New Jersey.
