A Sumter man has been sentenced to 328 months in federal prison for two armed robberies of the same bank, the U.S. attorney's office announced Wednesday.

Deonta Lamont Carpenter, 30, pled guilty to robbing a Sumter bank on Broad Street on two separate occasions in 2004 and 2005.

Another Sumter man, Michael Cogdell, was sentenced last July to 308 months federal imprisonment for his role in one of the robberies.

Neither Carpenter nor Cogdell will be eligible for parole.
