The Richland County Public Health Department is offering the swine flu mist vaccine for eligible people the next two Fridays.

The mist vaccine isn't for everyone. It is appropriate for people ages 2 through 49 who don't have conditions that make them high risk to catch the H1N1 virus.

You shouldn't get the mist vaccine if you're pregnant, planning to get pregnant, have allergies to egg products, are younger than 2 or have asthma, have diabetes, lung disease, heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, nerve disease or blood disorders. Those people need to wait for injectable vaccine.

To set up an appointment for the H1N1 mist vaccine, call (803) 576-2886 or (803) 576-1358. The Richland County clinic is at 2000 Hampton St. in Columbia.
