A Lexington 1 school bus was involved in an accident at 11 a.m. Tuesday that sent the driver, the one student who was a passenger and the driver of another car to the hospital.
Bus driver Lourine Chaplin, 61, of Gilbert was traveling north on U.S. 1 when she pulled into the path of a car, according to Lance Cpl. Josef Robinson, spokesman for the S.C. Highway Patrol.
Ronnie Prioleau, 25, of St. Stephen was the driver of the car, a 2007 Hyundai traveling on Caulks Ferry Road, Robinson said. The Hyundai was struck on the passenger side; Prioleau was not wearing a seat belt, Robinson said.
Prioleau, Chaplin and the student were taken to Lexington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Robinson said. They were treated and released.
