A photo of a J.V. Martin student playing a dented tuba ran in The State on Dec. 4. That photo, by staff photographer C. Aluka Berry, inspired Batesburg-Leesville High School to start a drive to collect used instruments. They will be delivered today, but the drive continues. Other schools with under-funded programs could benefit.
