Police search for armed robbery suspects

A 22-year-old woman, arriving home in the Hampton neighborhoods about 2 a.m. Saturday, was robbed after two men approached her car.

One of the men had his hand in his coat, suggesting that he had a weapon, said Columbia police Lt. Robert Gibson.

The woman was not injured.

The men took the woman’s purse and its contents. Gibson would not disclose the value.

The robbery occurred on Chimney Hill Road, behind the VA hospital.
