Columbia man's death Saturday tied to drugs, officials say

Illegal drugs played a role in Saturday’s shooting death of a 25-year-old man in Northeast Richland, sheriff’s deputies have determined.

Antron Dorsey of Columbia was shot at an apartment complex on Springwoods Lake Drive northeast of the Dentsville area, sheriff’s deputies said. He died of multiple bullet wounds to the body, according to the county coroner's office.

“Investigators are working some significant leads and we expect to have closure sometime soon,” the sheriff's spokeswoman said Sunday afternoon.

Dorsey was pronounced dead at Palmetto Health Richland.
