A Columbia driver has been arrested after two Allen University students were killed in a collision early Sunday at the intersection of Gervais and Harden streets.

Two vehicles collided at 1:25 a.m. Sunday at the intersection, killing two people and injuring three, Columbia police report.

Columbia police have charged Jabari O. Harding, 27, with felony DUI resulting in death. Harding is being held at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Candice Davis, 18, and Jerry Blandin, 20, died in the wreck, according to the Richland County Coroner's Office.

Three people — still not identified — were taken to Palmetto Health Richland, police report. One has life-threatening injuries, and the other two are in stable condition.

The cars involved were a 1988 Chevrolet Lumina and a 2004 Dodge Ram. The collision still is under investigation.
