Register to vote Wednesday

Lexington and Richland County election officials, along with officials from around the state, will be on hand to register voters during a Voter Education Kickoff at the state Capitol Wednesday. The registration drive, which will take place on the north grounds of the State House near Gervais and Main streets, will also include demonstrations of touch-screen voting machines. Snacks including ice cream, popcorn and water will be provided.

The event, sponsored by the State Election Commission, will be held 11:30 a.m. - 2 p.m.
