The first South Carolina vs. North Carolina “Battle of the Classes” basketball showcase takes place Saturday at the Colonial Life Center.
The event, sponsored by Elite 75 Prep and 6th Man Basketball, features 72 of the top high school baseball players in the Carolinas. A total of 14 players from Midlands areas schools give the event a local flavor.
There will be three showcase games, as well as dunk and 3-point shooting contests. The sophomore game is at 1:30 p.m., the juniors at 3:30 and the seniors at 6:30. The skills contests begin at 5 p.m.
The Midlands players selected are:
Senior game – MJ Rhett of Lower Richland, Mike Green of Ridge View, Jordan Harmon of A.C. Flora; Junior game – DJ Coleman of Sumter, Corey Littlejohn of Heathwood Hall, Isaac Harris of Dutch Fork, Quashawn Hawkins of Dreher, Jonathan Rumph of Brookland-Cayce and Eric Washington of Keenan; Sophomore game – Jordan Roper of Irmo, Shaq Roland of Lexington, Brandon Bolden of Sumter, Dee Brooks of Spring Valley, Quinton Johnson of Keenan.
