Roundup: Camden advances

Camden 35, Midland Valley 27

At Midland Valley, Chris Outten scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter that gave Camden the lead for good.

Josh Council ran for a touchdown and threw for another in the second quarter for the Bulldogs.

Jesse Scott led Midland Valley with a 93-yard punt return and two touchdown receptions (18 and 9 yards).

Desmond Johnson led Lake View (10-2) with 129 yards rushing.

Blackville-Hilda will travel to Summerton on Friday to take on Scott’s Branch in the Class 2A Lower State final.

At Cheraw, Montrell Evans rushed for a team-high 164 yards and three touchdowns for Cheraw. Travis Small added 122 rushing yards for the Braves.

Colby Carter had 26 carries for 142 yards and a touchdown for Barnwell.

Cheraw will travel to St. Stephen to take on Timberland on Friday.
