Owings headlines Midlands picks at senior all-star baseball week in June

Gilbert star Christopher Owings will be the lone Midlands player in the annual South Carolina/North Carolina select all-star game in June at Coastal Carolina, but 12 other players and two coaches from the area will be on hand for the annual North-South All Star games.

Lugoff-Elgin’s Randy Stokes and Camden’s Denny Beckley will serves as assistants on the two 3A-2A teams – Stokes on the North squad, Beckley on the South team.

Ridge View’s Andrew Hill and Julio Iglesias are on the North 4A-1A team. Lexington’s Chris Harper and White Knoll’s Corey Holmes have been named to the 4A-1A South team. Will Bedenbaugh of Mid-Carolina, Josh Miller of Chapin, Alex Mitchell and James Newman of A.C. Flora and Gilbert’s Jake Padgett and Adam Spires are all on the 3A-2A North squad. James Hall of Brookland-Cayce, and Jack LaFrage of Camden are on the 2A-3A South team.
