Following are updates and statistics of former Columbia-area high school athletes now competing at the collegiate level:

Men's Basketball Florida Southern senior forward John Thompson (White Knoll): Scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 103-61 win over Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras.

USC-Aiken junior guard Byron Faison (Crestwood): Had 13 points, one 3-pointer, one rebound, three assists and two steals in 97-78 loss to Pfeiffer. Scored 18 points and had three 3-pointers, three rebounds, two steals and one assist in 92-90 win over Catawba. USC-Aiken sophomore guard Sterling Council (Camden): Scored 10 points with two rebounds, two assists and two steals against Pfeiffer. Had four points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal against Catawba. Coker College junior guard Vatrick Thompson (White Knoll): Scored 24 points with two 3-pointers, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in 74-65 win over UNC-Pembroke, and had 15 points, two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal in 72-68 loss to Francis Marion.

Women's Basketball Coastal Carolina sophomore guard Olivia Irick (Keenan): Two points, one rebound and one assist in 88-49 loss to North Carolina. College of Charleston senior center Deidra Jones (Dutch Fork): Game-high 23 points, 19 rebounds, three steals and one block in 62-45 win over Texas-San Antonio. Had 11 points, five rebounds and two blocks in 97-71 victory over Mercer. Texas-El Paso sophomore forward Fannie Goodwin (Lower Richland): Nine points and three rebounds in 64-40 loss to Arkansas-Little Rock. Had 12 points, two rebounds, one block and one steal in 84-80 win over Eastern Illinois. Anderson freshman forward Breonda Shannon (Eau Claire): Two points, four rebounds and two steals in 68-57 loss to Carson-Newman. Elon freshman forward Arayael Brandner (Heathwood Hall): Four rebounds in 104-27 win over St. Andrews. Francis Marion freshman guard Kristen Dickerson (Heathwood Hall): Two points, three rebounds, one assists and one steal in 106-48 win over Coker College. Coker College sophomore guard Jasmine Alston (Sumter): Nine points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal against Francis Marion. Newberry College junior forward Briana Johnson (Irmo): Five points and two rebounds in 80-79 loss to Montevallo. Three points, four rebounds and two steals in 58-50 win over North Georgia.

Women's Cross Country Southern Wesleyan freshman Meg Donaldson (Camden): Finished 260th out of 330 runners at NAIA Championships in Vancouver, Wash., with time of 21 minutes, 20 seconds over 5-kilometer course.

Equestrian College of Charleston sophomore Emily Nellermoe (Spring Valley): Won Section B advanced walk/trot/canter to help team win College of Charleston Invitational. South Carolina junior Lydia Roof (Lexington): Won her reining ride to help Gamecocks beat New Mexico State 8-7.

Football Clemson senior guard Thomas Austin (Camden) and freshman center Dalton Freeman (Pelion): Both started in 34-21 win over Virginia and helped Tigers gain 366 yards. Clemson sophomore wide receiver Marquan Jones (Blythewood): One catch for 11 yards against Virginia. East Carolina freshman defensive back Leonard Paulk (Richland Northeast): Two tackles in 37-21 win over Alabama-Birmingham. Maryland freshman defensive lineman Justin Anderson (Blythewood): One tackle in 29-26 loss to Florida State. Memphis junior defensive lineman Tim McGee (Ridge View): Seven tackles in 55-14 loss to Houston. North Carolina State defensive tackle Leroy Burgess (Ridge View): Four tackles in 38-10 loss to Virginia Tech. Appalachian State sophomore wide receiver Brian Quick (Ridge View): Two receptions for 18 yards and one kickoff return for 7 yards in 19-14 win over Western Carolina. The Citadel senior wide receiver Andre Roberts (Spring Valley): Five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown, one rush for 12 yards, one punt return for 9 yards and three kickoff returns for 168 yards in 13-6 loss to Georgia Southern. The Citadel freshman defensive back Keith Gamble (Sumter) and junior defensive lineman Erik Clanton (Spring Valley): Each had one tackle against Georgia Southern. Columbia freshman linebacker Will Patterson (Hammond): Two tackles in 28-14 win over Brown. Coastal Carolina junior safety Carlton Mitchell (Ridge View): One tackle in 30-23 loss to Charleston Southern. Presbyterian sophomore cornerback Justin Bethel (Blythewood) and junior cornerback Brian Wilson (Sumter): Bethel made eight tackles, blocked two kicks and rushed one time for 26 yards, and Wilson had seven tackles in 21-14 loss to Gardner-Webb. Presbyterian junior linebacker Derek Brown (Blythewood) and freshman defensive end Iouli Burroughs (Dutch Fork): Brown had seven tackles and Burroughs made two stops against Gardner-Webb. Presbyterian freshman kicker Aaron Mayes (Blythewood) and senior quarterback Tim Webb (Lugoff-Elgin): Mayes made his two extra-point tries and Webb completed one of three passes for 1 yard against Gardner-Webb. Presbyterian sophomore right tackle Max Travis (Dutch Fork) and senior left tackle Nic Lanzo (Dutch Fork): Started and helped the Blue Hose gain 326 yards against Gardner-Webb. Wofford freshman linebacker Anthony Carden (Lexington) and freshman defensive end Allen Smith (Keenan): Carden had five tackles and Smith made one in 58-21 loss to Furman.

Men's Rifle The Citadel junior Brandon Gotterbarm (Airport): Helped lead Bulldogs to fourth place in air rifle team event with 547 points on Day 1, and second-place finish against Mississippi on Day 2 with 555 points. Had 543 points in smallbore team event against Mississippi.

Men's Swimming and Diving South Carolina sophomore Isaac Badillo (Ridge View): Ninth in the 200 butterfly consolation final at the Gamecock Invitational.

Women's Swimming and Diving North Carolina freshman Chay Malvasio (Irmo): Finished third in 3-meter diving event at the South Carolina Gamecock Invitational.

Volleyball Columbia College sophomore setter Liz Richardson (Lugoff-Elgin) and sophomore middle blocker Jennifer Monroe (Spring Valley): Both were named to All-Southern States Athletic Conference second team. Richardson also earned all-academic honors. Columbia College sophomore outside hitter/defensive specialist Ashley Hasty (Lugoff-Elgin): Received Southern States AthleticConference Musco Lighting Champion of Character Award and was named to all-academic team.

Wrestling Newberry College freshman Deral Brown (Lugoff-Elgin): Finished third in 141-pound division at North Carolina State Wolfpack Open with 5-3 victory over The Citadel's Kevin Timothy.
