Twelve players who have made impacts so far this season:
1. Stephon Gilmore, ATH, South Pointe: In addition to playing defensive back for South Pointe, Gilmore had ran for 461 yards and nine touchdowns and has completed 44 of 69 passes for 636 yards and three touchdowns.
2. Tidy Johnson, RB, North Augusta: The most explosive running back in the state. After six games, Johnson has 1,050 yards on 151 carries and six touchdowns.
3. Terrence Wilson, RB, Crestwood: A benificiary of the Wishbone offense, Wilson has 911 yards on 97 carries and 13 touchdowns.
4. Darius Wallace, DE, Crestwood: Leads the state with 10 sacks.
5. Joe Thomas, RB, Blackville-Hilda: The Hawks were undefeated heading into Friday’s game against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler and Thomas’ 1,044 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns is a big reason why.
6. Marcus Lattimore, RB, Byrnes: He has 889 yards on 109 carries and 10 touchdowns for the top-ranked Rebels.
7. Chas Dodd, QB, Byrnes: Could be the best quarterback the state has produced in years. He has completed 89 of 166 passes for 1,269 yards and 13 touchdowns with two interceptions.
8. Brandon Willis, DL, Byrnes: Leads the Rebels with 55 tackles and seven sacks.
9. Drew Bailey, LB, Dorman: Has 77 tackles, 12 tackles for losses this season.
10. Kwame Geathers, DL, Carvers Bay: Has 57 tackles, including five sacks.
11. Aldrick Fordham, DL, Timberland: Has 41 total tackles, including nine sacks and a team-leading 11 tackles for loss.
12. Akeem Johnson, QB, Chesterfield: Through six games had completed 76 of 131 passes for 1,271 yards and 18 touchdowns against five interceptions.
