CLASS 3A

Hilton Head (14-1) won its second consecutive state title with a 6-1 victory against J.L. Mann on Saturday at the Lexington County Tennis Center.

Singles players Brooke Ferry, Lindsey Burke, Sabrina Drammis and Kelly Cameron won in straight sets, losing 14 games combined.

CLASS 2A

With its 5-1 victory againstEmerald, Bishop England earned its 15th girls tennis state championship, the most in state history. Bishop England had shared the mark with Myrtle Beach. Straight-set wins by leading singles players Sallie Johnson and Downing Herlocker set the tone as the Bishops won their second title in a row.

Maggie Elliott, 6-2, 7-5; Elizabeth Mulkey (E) def. Mary Jo Inman, 6-2, 6-2. Doubles: Madison Boles/Katie Hentz (BE) def. Sammie Jo Manning/Julianne Welch 4-6, 6-2, 11-9.

CLASS A

By beating Green Sea-Floyds 7-0, Christ Church captured its second consecutive Class A state championship and its third title in the past four years.

Seabrook Lucas (No. 2 singles) and Rebecca Jennings (No. 3) didn’t lose a game, and Christ Church lost seven games in the five singles matches combined.
